Thanksgiving is a great time to slow down, enjoy one another and count your many blessings. It’s also often overlooked by the two holidays it’s sandwiched between, Halloween and Christmas. In order to stop this travesty, adopt a new tradition that will help you celebrate and acknowledge this fabulous holiday!

The Thankful Tree.

Grab some branches and tags and have everyone write down things they are thankful for throughout the month of November. On Thanksgiving, read them all out loud or just a few of the favorites!

The Turkey Trot.

Wake up early, get your run on, come home and eat your heart out! It’s a great way to start the day and a fun tradition that I have personally grown to love. Check for a Trot near you or click here for Dallas.

Friendsgiving.

Choose a date before actual Thanksgiving to get together with your friends and feast. Have everyone sign up for a dish, side, dessert or drink. It’s a fun way to spend time before the Christmas madness and to get two Thanksgiving meals:)

Write Thank Yous.

Grab some cute thank you cards and write those who have helped you or done something nice for you this year.

Try A New Side.

Along with the usual suspects, try a new side you’ve never had before. It’s always fun to mix it up and after the meal everyone can decide if it should make an appearance next year or if it should be nixed. Check out Pinterest for recipe ideas!
