“Safety, Shelter, and Strength”

We are constantly taking items from clients to be donated and have visited almost every donation center in the area.

My personal favorite donation spot is the Genesis Women’s Shelter. Genesis provides shelter, safety and counseling for domestic violence victims and their children with a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, transitional home, counseling, play therapy and many other services.

Similar to Goodwill, the Genesis Women’s Shelter accepts items to sell at their Benefit Thrift Store in the Oak Lawn neighborhood. I love it because not only do the proceeds go to a fantastic cause,  but also because the store accepts basically everything, and the drop off is always so smooth.

Just pull up, and someone is waiting to help you unload. They hand you a receipt and you’re back on the road!

Donating is such a quick and easy way to take unwanted items off your hands and place them where they are needed. You can’t beat that.
